Our Academy

Brambles Primary Academy is located on the Brambles Farm estate in Middlesbrough and we currently have 299 students on roll.

Our Head Teacher is Karen Gleave and she is supported by Louise Stogdale and Darren Higgins, who are both Deputy Head Teachers. We employ over 45 people, of which 20 are Teaching staff. We have 16 classes in total and each year group is supported by Learning Assistants which helps to ensure that all of our pupils receive a high level of individual support and care.

At Brambles Primary Academy, our motto is simply ‘Learning together; growing together; making a difference’.  This embodies our belief that, as part of the Tees Valley Education Trust, we aim to develop a community of learners who through the use of dynamic teaching and learning, committed collaboration and a consistent drive for progress, all achieve their full potential.

The academy consists of 3 phases; Early Years Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. With the exception on Nursery , each year group is two- form entry, with an admission number of 45 per year. Within each year group there are Learning Support Assistants to meet the varying needs of all our children. Our inclusive ethos and well-established system of pastoral care allows us to integrate our children as much as possible, and has created a nurturing environment that enables children to be successful, confident learners.

Brambles Primary Academy aims to:

  • Ensure the ‘Every Child Matters’ agenda is realised
  • Create an interesting and stimulating environment which reflects our values and promotes a sense of community as well as an individual sense of self worth
  • Develop a community of life-long learners where access to knowledge is a right and a recognised achievement
  • Provide learning experiences that will allow all pupils equal opportunities to develop their thinking and creative skills
  • Promote social, cultural, moral and spiritual development, preparing pupils to be responsible citizens
  • Encourage the partnership with parents/carers and foster positive links with the community

We believe the most effective way of achieving these aims is through the promotion of: inquiry and curiosity, enthusiasm and challenge, sharing and learning together, the acceptance and embracing of differences, openness, self respect and persistence.

If you would like your child to become a part of Brambles Primary Academy, we would like to welcome you into a partnership with us and encourage you to find out more by talking to those who know us best: our staff, parents and of course the children themselves. Our pupils are our best ambassadors and we are hugely proud of them. We look forward to working with you and your family
