Behaviour

Rather than having a long list of “Do’s and Don’ts” we try to keep our academy rules to a minimum as we believe that our caring and supportive environment encourages children to behave in ways that are acceptable to all who belong in our academy.

We do expect certain standards as a normal aspect of everyday life and we are proud of the fact that our pupils are well mannered and courteous.

We believe that good manners and courtesy between everyone in the academy helps to make a welcoming and happy academy. For example we expect everyone to say “Please” and “Thank You”, to hold doors open at appropriate times and to display good table manners.

We will not accept any of the following behaviours:

  • Swearing or abusive language
  • Damage to academy property (parents maybe asked to pay for repairs)
  • Violence or threats of violence
  • Physical or verbal bullying
  • Theft

Children who are involved in instances of this kind will be dealt with in an appropriate manner with regard to the circumstances and in accordance with our academy’s policy for behaviour management. Serious incidents may lead to a period of exclusion.
