On Thursday the 21st of June, a beautiful warm day, all of year 2 went on a fantastic visit to Saltburn. After a year of amazing hard work, the children deserved a fun visit to experience the seaside as part of their current project ‘Beachcombers’. We all excitedly jumped on the bus and set off to Saltburn. When we arrived, we parked at the top of the bank and had to walk through the wood to get to the bottom. It was worth the trip! We all arrived at a huge play park with brilliant different things to play on. After that, we went to have snack by the river. We all had a drink and some of us needed a top up of sun cream as the weather was lovely. We all had a go on the zip-wire, even Miss Beever. It was so much fun! Together, we set off to walk the pier. Some children nervously walked down the 208 meters pier; others ran along, laughing and giggling loudly as they went. The children got to see a brilliant surfer in action. When she fell off her board, after showing great skills, everyone cheered. After that it was time for lunch. We all sat near the calm river and snacked. After learning about the importance of not littering in school, everyone cleared up their own mess and the area was as good as new when we left for ice cream. After devouring that we went on the beach for a splash in the water. Some children were wetter than others. Sadly and all too quickly, it was time to go back to school. Just another ‘short’ walk up 166 steps to the top of the bank. A great day had by all. Thanks to all the children and adults involved.
Thank you for taking the time to visit the Primary Academy’s website. I hope it gives you a good insight into our academy and how we, above all, encourage our children to aspire to what they want to be.
