Brambles celebrated the Queen’s Jubilee in true Brambles style. We started the day with a whole school assembly to celebrate our Jubilee Crown competition. Children across the whole academy were invited to make a Crown at home to bring into school. It was a difficult decision trying to pick winners however, each year group had a very worthy winner each winning a prize. The children decorated the corridors with bunting, and paper chains, and made flags. Each year group celebrated a decade from the Queen’s reign working together to create a special poster. At lunchtime, we had a whole school outdoor picnic with music playing. The atmosphere was fantastic – especially when all of the children joined in singing ‘Sweet Caroline’. In the afternoon we split the time so everyone had a turn playing games on the field – mini golf, ring toss, and limbo to name a few – then a craft session making a carriage for the Queen, a lolly stick soldier, and an Andy Warhol inspired collage of the Queen. Each child in school received a very special keepsake book and button badge to remember the day. The children thoroughly enjoyed the learning that took place and the celebrations to finish the half term.
