Implementation

• Geography is taught based on the National Curriculum for Years 1 to 6 and the EYFS Curriulum Framework
• Children explore geography through the strands: location and place knowledge; fieldwork; map skills,  human and physical geography and enquiry
• A carefully planned whole school progression of geographical knowledge ensures children have and the opportunity to revisit and remember previous learning in order to develop an understanding of the world around them.
• Knowledge organisers outline the key new knowledge for each unit and the prior knowledge needed for pupils to make meaningful connections to new learning

Below is the transitional Geography and History plan for academic year 2023-2024 to allow changes to the Long Term Plan to be implemented. At the bottom is the Geography Long Term Plan that will be in place from academic year 2024-2025.
